Two years after Late Registration, in '07, Kanye West dropped his third studio album, Graduation. He ventured so far out of the box, dabbling with electronic and synthesizer sounds and sampling a wider range of musical genres. Lyrically, Graduation is more introspective in comparison to West's first two albums, as he dedicated much of the album towards analyzing himself and revealing his uncertain outlook on his newfound fame. "The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, grossing a total of over 957,000 copies in its first week in the United States alone." It has since been certified as 2X Platinum, selling 2,166,000 copies.
